9/13 Man Crush and D-Bag of the Week

So with the Bears in season now, I've decided to move the famous Man Crush/D-Bag to Monday. It looks this team will have no shortage of material. 340x.jpgIs this partly influenced by his status on my fantasy team? Yes. But Forte is back to being a very dangerous weapon again, simply by the new offense installed by Mike Martz.

In Forte's rookie year, he was a threat not only with running the ball, but also in leading the team in receptions. Somehow, Forte may actually be the best receiver on this team, and two huge receiving touchdowns showed he will be used in the offense in that way. Which is super awesome since I own him in a PPR league.

The downside? The Bears offensive line is beyond horrible (case in point: not scoring from the one on first and goal). So Forte isn't really getting any help.

But after one game, I'm ready to call him the best player on the Bears again.

l_smith_090224_blog1.jpgWell he's a moron. I feel like I could leave it there and now have to explain but let's revisit that 1st and goal on the one. I get wanting to score a touchdown. Cool. I don't get losing at the time and down by one, the Lions backup quarterback is in who has done a collective nothing, your team is getting owned by the Lions defense (read that like 80 times) and they couldn't score in the red zone if someone spotted them the ball on the one with four downs (which is exactly what happened).

Sure, Lovie's team "won" (they didn't, by the way) but the sloppy play from the Bears was on an embarrassing level. At home. On the opener. Against the Lions. Without their quarterback. Kill me.

So congrats Lovie, you were somehow awarded more points than the other team. Don't get used to it.
